Leírás | Jungfrau Marathon Jungfrau-Marathon - the world's most beautiful and unique marathon! What would the Jungfrau-Marathon be without the Jungfrau? You, the Jungfrau and the world famous panorama have made this event a marathon of superlatives, a cult race and the alpine equivalent of the New York event. You are running with a complete view of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau finishing no ordinary marathon but a unique runners experience . Along the way the scenery keeps changing: The emerald Lake of Brienz contrasts with the icy mountain giants of the region, the sheer rock faces in the Lauterbrunnen Valley with the bubbling waters of the Lütschine and the gnarled stone pines below the Wengernalp with the eternal ice of the majestic Silberhorn. All runners listed on the final starting list will receive their personal starting card and the programme of the 18th Jungfrau-Marathon by regular mail End of July 2010. The event complies with the regulations of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) the Association of International Marathons and Road Races (AIMS) and the Swiss Athletics. This Alpine challenge is only suitable for highly-trained runners. It is dangerous to run the race shortly after an infectious illness (e.g. angina, flu) or even with a temperature. We appeal to the common sense and own responsibility of every participant (the Jungfrau Marathon takes place every year). Participation in the Jungfrau-Marathon using aids or sports equipment (particularly poles) is not permitted and will result in disqualification. The official marathon course must be followed and instructions by course officials must be adhered to. Private escort vehicles (motor-driven or otherwise) and bicycle escorts or suchlike are not permitted. Only runners who have signed the athletes' declaration on the start card without reservation and/or deletions/amendments are eligible to start. If possible, participants will be informed of organisational measures before the start of the event. The organiser's instructions must be followed completely. In the event of non-compliance, also during the race, the organisers may at all times exclude and/or disqualify any runner who is disturbing the normal course of the event or endangering his own safety or that of other participants. These entry term & conditions are subject to occasional amendments. The valid version at the time of entry application is an integral part of the contract between organiser and participant. Amendments announced by the organisers before the start, on Internet www.jungfrau-marathon.ch or in written form, are an integral part of the contract until further notice. The same applies to any amendments announced by the organisers before or during the race. Transfer of start numbers Transfer of start numbers made from 1 July will be liable to a fee of CHF 20.00. Start cards will be sent by post for transfers made before 20 August. Transfers up to the day of the race may only be made at the Marathon Expo Helpdesk. The start numbers and administration fee of CHF 20.00 must be obtained/paid at the Helpdesk. Doping controls: the fight against doping The current «Regulations on Doping» issued by Swiss Olympic is applicable at the time of this competition. Random doping tests may be carried out at any time during the Jungfrau- Marathon. The athletes accept the Swiss Olympic regulations on doping and acknowledge the exclusive expertise of the Swiss Olympic Disciplinary Chamber and the arbitral judgement of the CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne - Switzerland) in any case of doping. See also: www.dopinginfo.ch Disqualification Fairness at the Jungfrau-Marathon! Unsporting behaviour (e.g. failing to pass through checkpoints and time-monitoring points, shortcuts, escorts, use of aids such as poles, ignoring official instructions, drug use) and by providing incorrect personal data (name, age) will result in disqualification. It is also forbidden to pass a personal start number on to another person without complying with the official transfer procedure. During the race, the start number must be clearly visible, fixed either on the chest or a race number belt and may not be modified or folded. Any disqualification will be the final decision of the jury (race management and person in charge of finishing area). Objections must be made in writing and handed to the person in charge of the finishing area by 30 minutes after the official closing of the finish. An administration charge of CHF 50 will be payable on the spot. This will be refunded should the objection be upheld. Time Limits Runners who exceed the final time limit will not be classified and thus unable to claim any marathon services (refreshments, first aid, check points, timing, ranking lists, medals, finisher's T-shirt). Time measurement Time measurement for the Jungfrau-Marathon will be carried out by Datasport using data chips. The time limit is set at 6 hrs. 30 min. Every runner who reaches the finishing line within this time limit will be classified and receives a finisher's medal and a finisher's T-shirt. Each runner will receive a personal coded data chip with his/her start number. Use of private chips is not permitted. Runners will be excluded from the time measurement (disqualification) should the official start number be altered in any way whatsoever, in particular if the advertising imprint is hidden or rendered unrecognizable. Data chips must be returned when collecting the finisher's T-shirt. No data chip - no T-shirt! Retiring runners Runners retiring from the race must notify the nearest first-aid post and return the chip there against a receipt. Missing chips will be charged to the runner (CHF 50). The costs of searching for any person who has not given notification will be charged to the person concerned. The start number is valid for travel to Kleine Scheidegg, where personal effects and valuables must be collected. Insurance Insurance is the sole responsibility of the participant. Every athlete must be insured against accident. The Jungfrau- Marathon Association bears no liability whatsoever in the event of accident or illness. There is no entitlement to repayment of the start fee should a registered participant fail to appear at the start or inform the organisers in advance of non-participation (including production of a doctor's certificate). Prize money Prize money at the Jungfrau-Marathon is CHF 54,700* (including sprint prizes**). The total value of prizes (with non-cash prizes) is CHF 68,000. The three best classified runners in each category will win valuable non-cash prizes donated by local authorities, businesses and hotels in the Jungfrau Region.
