| Leírás | weinmalig WACHAUmarathon on the 18th/19th September 2010 Austria 13th EDITION OF THE TRADITIONAL RUNNING EVENT The Wachau, a wine growing area renowned throughout the world, offers not just a picturesque landscape, a rich history and extraordinary wealth of cultural heritage but also an amazing and fast running event. In 2000 the Wachau was declared part of the UNESCO World heritage – since 1998 runners have set a tradition in late September. The course along the Danube between Emmersdorf and Krems attracts thousands of amateur runners because of its flat topography and the beautiful surrounding. Covering distances from 200 meters for the youngest (born in 2005 and older) on Saturday, September, 18th, the quarter marathon up to the classic marathon distance of 42,195 kilometers on Sunday (19.9.), the main event is the halfmarathon with nearly 5.000 participants. 13th EDITION OF THE TRADITIONAL RUNNING EVENT The Wachau, a wine growing area renowned throughout the world, offers not just a picturesque landscape, a rich history and extraordinary wealth of cultural heritage but also an amazing and fast running event. Last year we had to limit the participitants to 7000 because of a damaged railway-track and the race was sold out. This year we can increase again to 11 000 runners and many improvements are already implemented. So visit one of the most beautiful river valleys and participate in the 13th WACHAUmarathon, which takes place on the 18./19. September 2010, in one of the following events. * Coca Cola Junior Marathon * Quarter Marathon 10,5k: Run alone or as a TEAM consisting of 4 people and enjoy a great day in the Wachau. * Half Marathon and Nordic Walking Half marathon 21,1k: A perfect service and the fast track makes the half marathon to the main event with nearly 5.000 participants * Marathon 42,2k: enjoy the picturesque landscape or try to reach a personal best with our pacemakers.
