| Leírás | Tatry Running Tour 2011 Date: July 29 - July 31, 2011 Location: Štrbské Pleso, the High Tatras, Slovakia Event description: 3stages cross country running competition with possibility to participate in separate stages Courses length: stage 1 (Night Run) - 3,5km, stage 2 (Panorama Run) - 12,1km, stage 3 (Cross Run) - 5,5km Categories: men, women Eligibility: min. age 18 years Awards: a) 3 best in categories after each stage b) event winners in each category c) best climber Organiser: Sport Club 1896 Štrbské Pleso in cooperation with Panorama Resort s.r.o. Tatry Running Tour 2011 is a stage structured cross country run with the option to participate only in specific stages. It is organised mainly for running enthusiasts, who would like to enhance their stay in High Tatras by gaining new experiences or forming new friendships with likeminded individuals and also for those, who would like to find out how the high mountain environment and thinner air might affect their performance, as the run starts and ends at the altitude of 1350m. Each stage of the run offers unparalleled view on the surrounding nature and all are simply magical. The first stage will be run at night on the Friday the 29th around the lake Strbske Pleso, which most people have only had the chance to appreciate by daylight. This is the shortest stage with the smallest elevation difference and is therefore best suited for the recreational runners who would like to experience the atmosphere of Strbske Pleso by night. The second stage introduces the participants to a beautiful scenery of mountain paths from Strbske Pleso along the green route to Jamrichovo, continues on to lake Jamske plese and back along the red route to Strbske plese. This is the longest stage, with tougher elevation difference and the runners will be awarded with 2 climbing bonuses. The third stage is mainly for runners – climbers. The participants will run along a 5,5km long track from Strbske Pleso, following a forest road leading to Tatranska Strba and back along the blue route into the finish located next to the Panorama Resort hotel. Even though the majority of Slovakia will be experiencing typically hot summer days and nights, the conditions in Tatra mountains should be very good, since the average temperatures for July at Strbske Pleso are not more than 16 °C during the day and 11 °C during the night.
